The Opportunity

The incumbent will be responsible for developing and managing all data systems and data analysis procedures at CFL, and be responsible for maintaining, developing, and refining internal data infrastructure including: IT systems; Data and database management software; and Statistical and analytical tools. The position requires working closely with a variety of people-ranging from analysts to data managers in other sections so the candidate should thrive when working with others. A successful candidate will be able to act as a problem- solver of last resort by developing innovative scripts (e.g. R scripts, Bash scripts, etc.) to automate analysis and solve or circumvent data problems.  
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

- Postgraduate in a Scientific, Mathematical, or Technical field such as Computing Science, Information Systems, Math, or Engineering and extensive relevant experience with Software development experience using Java/PHP/Perl; or
- Extensive experience and management expertise; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems e,g. Moodle, Canvas, D2L, Blackboard;
- Experience in project management and the delivery of IT projects in an educational setting;
- Experience with the design of solutions implementation based on stakeholder requirements;
- Good understanding of Data mining & Machine learning techniques;
- Prior experience with data cleaning, visualization & reporting;
- Possesses a keen analytical mind with attention to detail and accuracy;
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills;
- Excellent written and spoken English;
- Proven experience working with large data sets and depriving insights from data using various business intelligence and data analytics tools;
- Able to work well in a multicultural team environment; and
- Personal and professional integrity.  
Preference will be given to applicants with:

- Experience with relational databases;
- Creating database schemes that represent and support business processes;
- Data migration, transformation and scripting;
- Working experience in the USP region; and
- A background in statistics.  
FJ $50,184 to FJ $61,289 per annum  
3 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement
