1. Position Level: Band E
2. Salary Range: $19,041.75 - $24,412.50
3. Duty Station: HQ, Ratu Sukuna House, Suva.
4. Reporting Responsibilities:
a. Reports to: Statistician, National Accounts Unit, Economic Statistics Division, Fiji Bureau of Statistics.
b. Liaises with: Economics Statistics Division and other divisional staff, Government Ministries & Departments and Stakeholders.
c. Subordinates: Nil.
The purpose of this position is to compile national accounts statistical report and releases to support economic policy decisions.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Diploma in Business/ Accounting/ Economics/ Official Statistics from a recognised institution or relevant experience.
Knowledge and Experience
Experience designing surveys, collecting and analysing data for specific purposes.
Knowledge of information gathering techniques and tools.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to collect, interpret financial statements to verify information.
Demonstrated ability to make analytical presentations.
Demonstrated ability to work and liaise with people from diverse cultures.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office or similar software for data analysis.
Ability to work alone or with minimal supervision.
Personal Character and Eligibility
Applicants for employment in the Fiji Bureau of Statistics must be Fijian Citizens, under Age 55, in sound health, with a clear police record. The successful applicant will be required to provide a medical certificate and police clearance as a condition of employment.
