Vanua Chocolate is a bean to Bar craft chocolate company based in the Fiji Islands. We craft dark chocolate from cacao and sugar of Fiji origin. Vanua Chocolate was started by Arif from Ba, Fiji Islands. One day, while passing an agriculture office in Rakiraki, Vitilevu, he saw bags of cocoa beans that had not been picked up by the buyer. The cocoa farmers lacked a consistent market. Arif went on to learn all about cocoa and chocolate making in the US and was inspired by the craft chocolate revolution unfolding that led to the birth of Vanua Chocolate in Nadi, Fiji Islands.

 Duties and responsibility

  • Hire, train and guide store employees in delivering excellent customer service.
  • Assign rules and responsibilities to employees for operational effectiveness.
  • Develop action plans for the team to meet operational and organizational objectives.
  • Adhere to employee wage and hourly laws.
  • Ensure that store in maintained according to sanitation and cleaning standards.
  • Obtain customer feedback and make appropriate business developments or changes to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor and manage store staffs by regularly conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve operational performance.
  • Identify and address issues in store performance.
  • Develop strategic and operational plans for managing execution and measuring results of store.
  • Schedule regular meetings to discuss about business development opportunities and any issues.
  • Communicate clearly with all employees to ensure effective store operations.
  • Maintain store environment clean, safe and inviting for customers
  • Qualified in pastry and baking
  • People Management, Planning, Foster Teamwork, Giving Feedback, Customer Service, Developing Budgets, Self-Motivated, Energy Level, Multi-tasking, Resolving Conflict, Verbal Communication
  • Pleases customers by providing a pleasant dining experience.
  • Good knowledge of different types of pastry, dessert, cake decorating.


  • High school diploma or 3 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area or certificate  from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in pastry cooking or Pastry Chef Experience with high volume food production
